International Nurses Day 2020 : They are unsung the heroes ,who risk their lives to save others.As the Covid-19 sweeps the world impacting communities and spreading a sense of insecurity,it's the angels in white who care and instil hope in the minds of patients.They dispense compassion, soothing smile and words of care .

The International nurses Day offers us an opportunity to express our gratitude to the nurses who are our frontline warriors in the battle against the pandmipa.

(2) To encourage nurses and the public to celebrate the big day.

  (3)  To provide information and resources that will help to raise the profile of the profession throughout the year.                  (4) To attract a new generation into the nursing family.    

   International nurses day 2020 "Brief "

This year's celebration will be extra special because the world health organisation (WHO) has designated 2020 as The Year of the " Nurses and Midwife.

Because it will be the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale,s Birth.

To mark the occasion ICN is planning and coordinating a wide range of activities throughout the year.     

International Nurses  Day : History

In 1953, Dorothy Sutherland ,an official with the U.S. department of health, Education and Welfare,contacted president Dwight D. Eisenhover proposed to celebrate " nurse day". At that time he did not approved her proposal.First time it was celebrated by international council of nurses (ICN) in 1965. In January 1974 ,12 may date was declared to celebrate 'International nurse Day'. because on this date Florence Nightingale was born.who is  the founder of modern   every year on this day prepare and distribute International nurses day kit which consists education and public information materials  which can be used by nurses among public .Let us tell  you that  National Student Nurse Day'    is celebrated on 8 May since 1998 and National Nurses week  from  6 may to 12 may  since   2003 .
